Leadership Development

The women DFS serves are encouraged to lead, to advance in their careers, and to give back to their communities. Through Leadership Development programs, clients gain the skills and information they need to have an even greater impact on those around them.

Financial Education

Teaching financial knowledge and skills is crucial to economic independence for women. The face of poverty in Canada is a woman’s face and the single greatest risk factor for poverty is being a single mother. Single mothers are a core constituent of the women we serve. We know the exponentially positive impact that financial knowledge and full and equal employment for women has on the economy, generational wealth development, and social cohesion in communities.
