From Coast to Coast

In Canada, there are 13 Dress for Success affiliates from coast-to-coast: Vancouver, Kelowna, Central Alberta, Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Orillia & Barrie, Ottawa, Toronto, Kingston, Montreal and Halifax. Together, they provided 12,144 units of service to 7,440 women and non-binary individuals and worked with more than 600 social service and employment referral agencies in 2022.

Dress for Success is a global not-for-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Since starting operations in 1997, Dress for Success Worldwide has expanded to 140+ cities in ~25 countries and has helped more than 1.3 million women and non-binary individuals work towards self-sufficiency.

Suiting

Dress for Success is known for the Suiting Program, which offers women the opportunity to be dressed in professional attire for job interviews, work, or special suitings. Our stylists ensure your personalized appointments will leave you feeling confident and ready for the next step in your journey.

Job Search Support

Pre-employment support programs address and eliminate the frustrating obstacles that may arise during one’s search for employment. Clients receive support and encouragement, building confidence through networking, and discussing the barriers they face in their job search. The goal – help participants stay motivated and optimistic about their job search journeys.

Employment Retention

Getting the job is hard – keeping the job can be even harder. Employment Retention programs focus on helping you remain employed, and provide you with the strategies you need to nurture your professional growth. We want to ensure you feel more stable in your career and in your ability to develop your professional skills.

Leadership Development

The women DFS serves are encouraged to lead, to advance in their careers, and to give back to their communities. Through Leadership Development programs, clients gain the skills and information they need to have an even greater impact on those around them.

Financial Education

Teaching financial knowledge and skills is crucial to economic independence for women. The face of poverty in Canada is a woman’s face and the single greatest risk factor for poverty is being a single mother. Single mothers are a core constituent of the women we serve. We know the exponentially positive impact that financial knowledge and full and equal employment for women has on the economy, generational wealth development, and social cohesion in communities.

A Unique Collective

There is one common goal between all Dress for Success affiliates – empowering women on their journey to economic independence and breaking down barriers along the way.

Each affiliate is its own unique charitable organization, providing its own range of services that address the gaps seen in their communities.

Collectively, we stand for gender equality and inclusive, intersectional feminism. We believe that every woman deserves to thrive in work and life and we exist to support that journey through building skills and community. Programs are open to all women and non-binary individuals who are seeking an environment that centre’s the experiences of women and non-binary individuals.
